Amapex Environment is a Spanish company, headquartered in Barcelona, with an international vision and a team of experts in the industrial application of the biotechnology we develop.

ABOUT US

Amapex Environement SL was founded in 2007 in Barcelona, Spain, by biologist and entrepreneur Joaquim Canadell, the company's current CEO, as an environmental consulting firm. Specializing in consulting for companies in Catalonia, we have expanded internationally and have clients throughout Europe.

After years dedicated to consulting and designing solutions for industrial wastewater treatment, and identifying the problem of SMEs' lack of access to cost-effective solutions, the company's partners decided to take the plunge and develop their own solutions in 2013.

Thanks to the boost provided by co-financing through the H2020 program, in 2020 we launched our industrial wastewater treatment system in Barcelona with the RIBATI project, carrying out pilot projects in Barcelona, Girona, Catalonia, Spain, and Italy.

Following the biotechnology research and development strategy that has always characterized Amapex, and with the aim of expanding our vision to other environmentally conscious sectors by proposing effective and efficient solutions, in 2021 we conducted pilot projects to improve the efficiency of biogas plants, with excellent results that are currently being applied in biogas plants in Spain, Barcelona, Lleida, North America, and Ottawa.

Currently, in 2023, after years of research, we have just launched biofertilizers for woody plants, such as vines and fruit trees, which, in addition to strengthening the plants' growth, also help them develop their own defenses against potential pests.

All our processes and products are aimed at improving the environment, while also improving the bottom line of the companies we work for in Spain and Europe.

We are experts in the application of biotechnology to environmental improvement. We have our own research laboratory where we have conducted, and continue to conduct, research into the isolation and development of bacterial strains that can improve the environment in Europe.

Amapex is comprised of a multidisciplinary, international senior team with deep knowledge of the target markets and extensive experience in the biological sector, accelerating business growth and scaling companies across a variety of industries.

Our headquarters remain in Barcelona, Spain, a meeting point for our clients, while always keeping in mind the significant contribution we can make to companies across Europe.
